CLASSIC MOFONGO (🇩🇴 FRIED PLANTAIN MASH)

Plantains are a staple in any Caribbean kitchen, and mofongo (garlic flavored fried plantain mash with pork crackling) is one of our star plantain recipes.

INGREDIENTS

Oil | Beef Bones | Garlic Onions | Cilantro | Oregano Salt | Plantains  Pork Cracklings 

Make Broth

Prepare the broth in a deep pot.  Simmer for an hour

Fry Plantains

Heat oil and fry the plantains until they become golden brown.

Crush Plantains

Using a pilón to crush the garlic and salt, add plantains and mash.

Shape 

Shape into 6 balls  and place into small bowls.

Serve

Place the balls onto the serving plates and garnish with broth, that you'll pour over the mofongo balls.
