This delicious and bone-warming tisana de limón, menta y miel (lime, mint, and honey tisane) is grandma's go-to solution for the sniffles and a comforting hot drink that will make chill and miserable days more bearable.
Why we ❤️ it
This is a bone-warming tisana (Spanish for tisane) that my mom (and her mom before that) used to make for us when we inevitably brought any of a number of bugs from school, and while I am not an expert on the medicinal qualities of these plants (and they do have them), but at least it tastes heavenly and the vapor relieves stuffy noses.
Even if you are perfectly fine, if you're a fan of herbal teas, this is one you should incorporate into your rotation. The combination of the refreshing mint (yerbabuena) flavor, and the lemony flavor of the lime leaves makes for a lovely combination.
Along with ginger tea, this is one of my favorite Dominican drinks.
About this recipe
The ingredients to make this tisana are reasonably easy to find, except –perhaps– lime leaves. You can use lemon or orange leaves too.
This recipe yields 4 servings of one cup each.
Salud!
